My Practice

Telehealth

As of March, 2020 my practice went exclusively on-line. Although it was an unexpected transition, it has proved to be a highly effective tool for connecting with my patients. I utilize a confidential, HIPAA compliant platform that allows for more flexibility and access to support.  Based on my credentials, I can work with anyone who lives in the state of Florida and Great Britain.

Background

Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Florida Atlantic University and an undergraduate degree in Psychology from Florida International University. While living in England, I completed post-graduate work in Humanistic Counselling Psychology and am still a Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP).

My Approach

Psychotherapy can often be a way of finding support and self awareness during challenging times. Ultimately, it is the individual who directs their story in a new direction. The Therapist serves as a guide. To have the support of a clinically trained professional who can objectively listen, reflect, and challenge has made the difference for many people between thriving and surviving.

A Therapist cannot convince, transform, or cure without a commitment from the Patient, however.

When choosing a Counselor/Therapist you will always want to take into consideration their training, experience, and professional affiliations. Nevertheless, while all of those criteria are important, research shows that Psychotherapy is ultimately successful because of the therapeutic alliance formed between the Patient and Therapist. It is only in the presence of the other, with time, trust, and a commitment to that process, where success can truly be measured for Patient and Therapist alike.

Mental Health is a priority of well-being, yet the cost has to be seen as you would a gym membership, dinner out with friends, or a vacation. Your health is priceless so taking steps to value and prioritize that expense in your personal budget is an important point to consider before commencing with private therapy.

If you feel like circumstance, substance, or biology are interfering with your life— and you are willing to accept the help of a confidential professional—please do not hesitate to reach out.
